What is dataplay disc?

Dataplay disc was a type of optical disc format that was launched in 2001 by a Colorado-based company called Clik Technologies Corporation. It was designed to store digital data, such as music, videos, and photographs.

The Dataplay disc was about the size of a quarter and had a capacity of 500MB, which was considered to be a significant amount of storage space at the time. It used a proprietary technology called Databridge, which allowed the disc to be read by a special player or a compatible device, such as a computer or a portable media device.

Despite its initial popularity and the support from major companies, including Samsung and Creative Labs, the format failed to gain widespread adoption and was eventually discontinued in early 2003 due to competition from other digital storage solutions, such as USB flash drives and digital memory cards.
